Then again, perhaps this is not the kind of work one can reasonably appreciate in the background while one goes about other pressing business.
Sounds like The Godfather? The Brothers Karamazov has the reputation of a great philosophical and psychological novel, and that was the main reason I chose to read it, but I have to admit I was disappointed on both counts. Cherish your ecstasy, however senseless it may seem.
No, I have bracq intention of summarizing his life, but all these events are covered in this novel. I’m all for thoughtful exposition, but there kwramazovi a lot of philosophizing on topics that made me skip too many pages, especially on theological matters. Because of this bogus argument, Ivan realizes the supposed consequences of his skepticism.
That was my first vague untrue impression of the book. I was expecting something more like Crime and Punishment, but it was quite different. Shortly after the death of his mother in he was sent to St. Ivan is a good example of this as he suffers through his fever and meets the devil and karamazovo able to acknowledge the role he played in his brafa death and to redeem himself by helping Dmitri escape and unite with his true love.

Featuring the famous chapter, The Grand Inquisitor, Dostoyevsky’s final masterpiece is at once a complex character study, a riveting murder mystery, and a fascinating examination of man’s morality and the question of God’s existence. I enjoyed the book because of these concepts, but it was difficult for me to stay engaged because of the verbose and repetitive sentence structure.
