I spent most of sophomore year being stagnant as I would get hit with problems that were way too hard for me. I initially thought that I had received a counterfeit copy of the book, but this was my introduction to “international edition” textbooks.
Although it is the India edition, the content is same as the American one. Somehow the exercises that I don’t know how to solve in these books always end up on contests edsign I take part in. How should I design the algorithm to solve this question? He owes his success to 1 strategy.

My best guess is that alorithm was re-typeset by hand, by a non-technical person using MS Word, so they simply messed it up badly.
